Project Oded Hybrid Mini Course: Tehillim & Tehillot

The Tehillim (Psalms) were written in a book, and for as long as they remain in that book they are just poetry. The moment we raise our voices, our breath, the moment our neshama gets involved, the Tehillim come alive with our kavvana and transform into Tehillot (exaltations).

Join us to experience this metamorphosis and to learn about the process through which human intention shapes the spiritual reality, based on the approach of Rav Samson Rafael Hirsch. Let’s praise life. Let’s raise our voices.

Taught by Chasan Jalda Rebling, in for four sessions on July 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th at 9am-10am PST | 12pm-1pm EST | 5pm-6pm London | 6pm-7pm Europe | 7pm-8pm Israel. Join from the comfort of your computer or in person at the Fuchsberg Jerusalem Center!

Project Oded is an ongoing program that runs multiple sessions per year, providing Jewish educational opportunities on various topics to students of all ages all over the world.

Meet the Teacher

Chasan Jalda Rebling

Chazan Jalda Rebling grew up with the Yiddish songs of her mother, a Shoah survivor. She is an alumna of the famous acting school “Ernst Busch” in Berlin and as an actor worked for many theatres and in TIV and film productions. Since 1978 she has dedicated her life to Jewish music. In the mid 90’s she joined, and was actively involved in, the first egalitarian Synagogue in Berlin, Oranienburger Strasse.

She started her studies in Chazanut in the ALEPH cantorial program and immediately began teaching in Germany, and later in Europe and the US. She gained her S'micha as Hazzan in 2007 from ALEPH. In 2010 she met Chazan Jacky Chernett at the Conservative Yeshiva and developed a very fruitful friendship. Since then, she has been a teacher for EAJL and helped to develop several EAJL programmes, leading to her current role as Director of Studies.

She is a mum of three and a proud grandma.
